
Job Title: Junior Bookkeeper (Contractor – Part Time – Remote)

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join our growing team on a part-time basis. This is a Contractor position initially with potential to become a W-2 employee after 3-6 months of successful contribution to the firm. This role offers an excellent opportunity to expand your bookkeeping career while working with diverse clients under the mentorship of our Senior Bookkeeper. (No need to apply if you are trying to build your own bookkeeping firm. We are looking for team members who are not interested in the sales and marketing and operations needed to build their own firm, but who are thrilled to ‘do the bookkeeping’ work.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to work in a secure cloud-based environment with firm shared files
- Check email and task management software daily.
- Handle daily bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients including, but not limited to
- Categorize financial transactions
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliation
- Assist with monthly financial reporting
- Assist with managing a clients’ Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Communicate with clients and document interactions in Keeper.app Client Portal
- Learn Cloud9 Financial’s established processes necessary to deliver services.
- Collaborate with senior team members
- Keep leaders up to date on task progress using Keeper.app
- Join in periodically with Sr. Bookkeeper on client calls via zoom as available.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High School diploma required; Bachelors degree in accounting or related field is preferred
- 1-2 years of experience with Quickbooks Online
- QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification (Level 1) or ability to become certified within 30 days.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment (remotely)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and double entry bookkeeping
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of client information
- Knowledge in some or all of our tech stack: QuickBooks Online, Google Workspace, Keeper, Zoom, Loom, DEXT, Gusto, OnPay and others
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and other basic office software in a Google Workspace environment.
- Must have a reliable high speed internet connection
- Ability to join a weekly team meeting over zoom (day/time TBD)
- Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with small business accounting
- QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification Level 2
- Experience working with multiple set of client books simultaneously
- Experience using Keeper.app
- Experience with DEXT, Bill.com, Melio, other peripheral accounting software that supports bookkeeping functions
- Experience with communication tools such as Loom, Scribe, and Slack
- Experience with or Certification in Gusto, OnPay or other payroll solutions that may integrate with QuickBooks
- Experience and knowledge of various State Payroll taxes (WA State is a strong PLUS)
- Experience working in an accounting firm, working with multiple clients
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Willingness to support operational side of business processes
